Record of the Week

Renyard - It Is What It Is

Brand new tune from me, I played this out for the first time a couple of weeks ago and you may have heard it on last week's radio show. I'm now making it available for free to my newsletter readers. Thanks for subscribing and I hope you enjoy.

Classic of the Week

Missy Elliot - Get Ur Freak On (Superchumbo’s Superfreakon Remix)

Missy Elliot’s Get Ur Freak On was everywhere in 2001. As such, there were many remixes of the tune, some official, many more less so, but this one by Superchumbo is the best (and only) remembered one for me. Superchumbo “Swi Swi Switches the style” while keeping just the right amount of the original over a slowly mutating acid bassline.

One More

Fear-E - KRS

This is the next release from Jerome Hill's Super Rhythm Trax label and it's a belter. Release date for this one is in early February.

Radio Show

New CTRL Z mixes are now being posted to YouTube, where you can listen on your TV or any other supported device, along with chaptered tracklistings. The first few mixes are up there now, so there's no time like the present to subscribe and make sure you don't miss the next one.
